Autumn drilling update

The oil seed rape went in to the ground relatively easily and on time, this year. The dry conditions made things fairly straightforward, although the flea beetle seem to have had other ideas.

The dry weather, however, continued, so we started drilling winter wheat and barley later than usual and only when there was a chance of some rain. Of course, as luck would have it, once it started to rain, it hardly stopped! So although most of the first wheat is in the ground now, and all of the barley, we are still waiting for suitable ground conditions to get the rest of the crops in to the ground.
